Earlier(3-4 months ago), I discussed 10 WordPress plugins which would be beneficial for running multi-author blogs and this time around I thought of continuing the same flow by writing about 10 author box plugins for WordPress. If you recall my words from the last article, I had mentioned that running a multi-author blogs is grabbing attention slowly and steadily. But, when it comes to running such type of blogs, it is important to take care of authors by the best possible way. In order to improve the visibility of author’s description and so-called social profiles, these 10 author box WordPress plugins are the best ones.

1. Fancier Author Box by ThematoSoup
Fancier author box by thematoSoup is the one which we are currently using on eBloggingHow. I simply loved the way it has allowed me to customize most of the things. As you can see, this plugin allows you to add 3 social profiles i.e., Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus to author box. It also adds position, company name and company URL beneath the name of the author. The second tab is dedicated to listing out recent blog posts from the author. The extra settings allows you to change the color scheme to match it with your blog’s layout.
2. DT Author Box
DT Author Box plugin is one of the simple and minimal type of author box WordPress plugin which supports healthy number of languages and features such as short bio, link to the author’s website, twitter profile. It also allows you to add an image sepearately so that the one from gravatar is overwritten.
3. Author Box Plugin With Different Description
This plugin adds author box after the post content which can be customized to have different description than the one which is found in profile settings. The box contains avatar, post count, site link, description, e-mail and social media icons such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest and YouTube.

The Author Box After Posts plugin seamlessly adds author box after the post which is composed of avatar, name, post count and social media icons such as Facebook, Twitter etc.
5. Guerrilla’s Author Box
Guerrilla’s Author Box is minimal styled plugin which shows very basic information of an author. It includes author’s name, avatar from gravatar and small description which is HTML editable. As I said, the layout which is offered by this plugin is very basic and there are hardly any customization that any would be able to do.
6. Author Box Reloaded
This plugin adds an elegant author box which is very useful as it allows bloggers to put external links to wide range social channels. Although these external links need extra plugin to be installed, it’s not a headache to install it either.
7. Social Author Bio
Social Author Bio adds author box with social icons such as Facebook, Google Plus and Twitter. The plugin is fully integrated with Google+ to show authorship in Google search results. A blogger has the ability to adjust avatar image’s size. It also offers choice to either display it on top or at the bottom.
8. WP About Author
WP About Author adds customizable author bio at the end of an article. There are total three border styles to match the layout with any theme. One can easily change the background color by simply changing hash color codes. Display settings allows you to decide when to display the box and when not to. Like all other author box plugins, this plugin is also equipped with social media profiles.
9. Big Bio Box
If you’re looking for fully integrated HTML based author bio box then Big Bio Box is the one which you should definitely try. It adds an additional tinymce editor box inside the settings which further allows you to make customization very easily.
10. Post Author
A simple author box plugin for WordPress which adds the name of an author at the beginning and at the end of the article. In addition to author box, it allows authors to link their profile name to external URL.
CW Author Info
CW Author Info would add nice stylish author box at the end of each article and it would be accompanied by avatar and social network’s icons. All you’ve to do is fill appropriate information in the respective blocks under profile settings and BOOM. You’re all set to start using it. At this point int time, the plugin support only three languages i.e., Spanish, English and Italian.
